Hello and bienvenidos! Soy Amanda Vela, a photographer based in the Rio Grande Valley. I have six years experience working in different areas of photography. I began at a local portrait studio and after 2 years moved on into photo journalism. I worked with a university newspaper and magazine taking photos and conducting interviews with students and professors. During these years my photos and stories were published on the university newspaper and magazine websites. Opportunity struck and I had the chance to transition into marketing and provide photography services to local businesses. I provided headshots and product photography for local restaurants in the McAllen area. I am constantly seeking ways to build on my skills and love taking on new challenges. I have a best friend and her name is Petunia. She is pictured down below.
